Households qualify if their income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or if they participate in certain assistance programs like SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, Federal Public Housing Assistance, SSI, Veterans Pension, Lifeline, or others.

Eligible households can receive up to $30 per month toward internet service ($75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands) and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.

You can apply online through the official Free Government Phones application process, by mail, or through participating providers. The application is free and requires proof of identity, address, and eligibility.

Many major internet service providers participate in the Free Government Phones, including Xfinity, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and many local providers. You can choose from participating providers in your area after you're approved.
